01 Order of work

Step by step

  1. Offer of place

    Course name, length, full/part time and holiday dates for multi-year courses. [1]

  2. Fees

    Receipt for one year or one course, or a confirmed education-loan application with the provider's letter. [1]

  3. Living money

    NZD 20,000 a year (NZD 1,667 a month if under a year). [1]

  4. Apply online

    Pay from NZD 850 and submit; apply at least 3 months before travel. [1]

04 On this visa

Work during and after your course

  • Up to 25 hours a week while studying and full time in the summer holidays or scheduled breaks, depending on your visa conditions. [1]
  • Post-Study Work Visa: master's or doctoral graduates who studied at least 30 weeks in NZ get 3 years; level 8 or below gets a visa equal to the study time. [3]
  • You can hold the PSWV only once; it can support visas for your partner and children. [2]
