On 23 September 2026 RPSC announced that the prelim is proposed for 6 December 2026, and opened an online edit-and-withdraw window from 24 to 30 September 2026 (₹500 per edit). [3]
Degree, age and relaxations
- Qualification: a degree from a university established by law or recognised under the UGC Act. Final-year students may sit the prelim but must have the degree before applying for the mains.
- Age: at least 21 and not over 40 on 1 January 2027. Ministerial non-gazetted employees applying against reserved posts: 25 to 45.
- Because the previous advertisement used 1 January 2025 as the age date, candidates over-age under this one get one more year of relaxation. [1]
Upper-age relaxations (not cumulative — only the most favourable one applies) [1]
| Candidate | Relaxation |
|---|---|
| Men of Rajasthan's SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS | 5 years |
| Women of Rajasthan's SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS | 10 years |
| General-category women | 5 years |
| Widows and divorced women | No upper limit |
| Ex-servicemen | 10 years (state services) / 15 years (subordinate), up to 50 |
| Persons with benchmark disabilities | 5 years |
| Rajasthan government / panchayat employees | Upper limit 45 |
Prelim, four-paper mains, interview
- Prelim: one objective paper on General Knowledge and General Science, 200 marks, 3 hours, 150 questions of equal marks, Bachelor's-degree standard. It only screens; its marks are not counted in final merit.
- Negative marking: one-third of a question's marks for each wrong answer.
- Each question has five options; the fifth means 'not attempted'. Leaving all five blank also costs one-third mark, and anyone who leaves more than 10% of questions with no circle darkened is disqualified. [2]
Mains — descriptive, 3 hours per paper [1]
| Paper | Subject | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| I | General Studies I | 200 |
| II | General Studies II | 200 |
| III | General Studies III | 200 |
| IV | General Hindi and General English | 200 |
| Personality & viva-voce | 100 |
- About 15 times the vacancies are admitted to the mains.
- Mains minimum: 10% in each paper and 15% in aggregate (5% relaxation for SC / ST) to be called for interview.
- At the interview, knowledge of Rajasthani culture is also assessed; for the Rajasthan Police Service, NCC 'C' certificate holders get preference. [1]
One-Time Registration fee
OTR fee, paid once (Personnel Dept. circular of 19 Apr 2023) [1]
| Candidate | Fee |
|---|---|
| General; creamy-layer OBC / MBC | ₹600 |
| Rajasthan's non-creamy-layer OBC / MBC, EWS, SC, ST, Sahariya | ₹400 |
| Persons with disabilities | ₹400 |
- Reserved-category candidates of other states pay the General fee.
- Candidates who already paid the OTR fee do not pay again.
- Missing two exams in a financial year blocks the OTR; unblocking costs ₹750 the first time and ₹1,500 the second time.
- Editing the online form after the last date (within 10 days) costs ₹500. [1]
Who gets reservation
- SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS and ex-servicemen reservation goes only to original residents of Rajasthan; a woman from another state who marries a Rajasthan resident does not get SC / ST / OBC / MBC reservation (Supreme Court and High Court rulings cited in the advertisement).
- Creamy-layer OBC / MBC candidates and reserved candidates of other states apply as General.
- Reservation for women, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen is horizontal; unfilled widow / divorcee posts pass between those two groups, then to other women of that category.
- Reserved candidates who used no concession other than the fee can be counted on General merit.
- Scheduled-area posts can be applied for only by residents of Rajasthan's scheduled area. [1]
OTR and application
- SSO ID and One-Time Registration with Aadhaar / Jan Aadhaar; the name, father's name, date of birth and gender come from Aadhaar.
- Live photo captured during the online form; signature and left-thumb impression uploaded.
- Degree, category, disability, ex-servicemen and scheduled-area certificates — all valid by the last date of the form. [1]

The advertisement gives pay matrix levels only, not rupee amounts or in-hand salary. Under Rajasthan rules, direct recruits are paid a fixed remuneration during probation (see the LDC and SI notices on this cockpit); the RAS advertisement does not state the amount.
Allotment
Selection is by written exam and interview; RPSC recommends names in merit order to the government or appointing authority under rule 17 of the service rules, and posts are allotted by merit and the service preference given in the form. [1]
