Bihar Exam & Career Cockpit
Every major Bihar government recruitment and diploma-admission route on one screen: the BPSC Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (72nd CCE), the BSSC Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination, Bihar Police constable (CSBC) and Sub-Inspector (BPSSC) recruitment, and BCECEB's DCECE for polytechnic and para-medical diplomas. Each page is built only from the official advertisement or prospectus, and every fact links back to that file.
Three Bihar rules decide more results than any other. Caste reservation, the 35% horizontal reservation for women and the 4% reservation for persons with disabilities are given only to permanent residents (mool niwasi) of Bihar — candidates from other states compete as Unreserved. BC and EBC candidates need a non-creamy-layer certificate from their home circle officer. And a married woman's caste and non-creamy-layer certificates must be issued in her father's name, not her husband's.

Who allots B.Tech seats in Bihar
B.Tech seats in Bihar's government engineering colleges are filled through UGEAC, the Board's counselling on JEE (Main) merit. Below: who runs it, how seats are reserved, and the first-round closing rank at three government colleges.
Counselling body
- Run by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) — Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC-2026) [1]
- Merit basis JEE (Main)-2026 Paper-1 merit list
- Official portal bceceboard.bihar.gov.in (opens in a new tab)
How seats are allotted
- UGEAC fills first-year B.Tech seats in two online rounds on JEE (Main)-2026 Paper-1 merit. Seats still empty after that go to BCECE-2026 candidates from the PCM / PCMB group. [1]
- Reserved seats for permanent residents of Bihar: SC 16%, ST 1%, EBC 18%, BC 12%, reserved-category girls (RCG) 3%, EWS 10%. The other 40% are unreserved. [1]
- Candidates who are not domiciled in Bihar cannot take reserved seats. A central-list OBC candidate must claim Bihar's BC or EBC category instead. [1]
- One-third of the seats in every course are reserved for women domiciled in Bihar, across all categories. 5% of seats are reserved for the Disabled Quota (DQ). [1]

| Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering (BCE), Bakhtiyarpur | CSE · UR · General seat | 197 [2] |
These are UGEAC merit ranks (Bihar's own list, built from JEE (Main)), not JEE (Main) all-India ranks. They come from the Board's UGEAC-2025 first-round file. Female and category seats have separate rows in that file. Check the 2026 rounds on the Board's site before relying on these.
