JCECEB Polytechnic Entrance 2026 & JEE Main-Based B.Tech Counselling — Eligibility, Fees, Dates

The Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination-2026 fills first-semester engineering diploma seats for 2026-27 in Jharkhand's government polytechnics (including women's polytechnics), PPP-mode and private polytechnics, and Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die) at the Mini Tool Room & Training Centre, Ranchi and the Government Tool Room & Training Centre, Dumka. Polytechnic Entrance 2026 — dates after the extension of 9 June 2026 [2]

B.E. / B.Tech: JCECEB prepares a state merit list from JEE (Main)-2026 results for counselling to Jharkhand's B.E. / B.Tech seats. Merit lists for 2026 were published on 5 July, 20 July and 1 August, and the fourth round ran 10–13 August 2026. [3]

• Indian citizens who are permanent / local residents of Jharkhand.
• Qualification: Class 10 (Matric) or equivalent pass. Students appearing in Class 10 in 2026 may apply but must show the pass certificate at admission.
• Age: only Mining Engineering needs a minimum age of 17 on 1 July 2026; no other branch has a minimum or maximum age. [1]

• The test is held offline on OMR sheets, 10:30 am to 1 pm, with multiple-choice questions printed in both Hindi and English.
• Exam centres: Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dumka, Palamu, Hazaribagh and Chaibasa. [2]

The notice does not print the number of questions, subject split or negative marking; those are in the board's guide (margdarshika) on its website, which we have not used here.

The fee is non-refundable, and bank charges are extra. [1]

The latest reservation policy of the state government applies to polytechnic admission. [1]

For B.E. / B.Tech counselling, ST, SC, BC-I (non-creamy layer), BC-II (non-creamy layer) and EWS certificates are accepted only if issued by an officer not below the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Jharkhand. [3]

• Class 10 pass certificate (compulsory at admission if you applied while appearing).
• Proof that you are a permanent / local resident of Jharkhand. [1]

• Category certificates (ST, SC, BC-I / BC-II non-creamy layer, EWS) from an SDO (Civil) or higher officer of Jharkhand, for B.Tech counselling. [3]

The notices set only the test fee (₹650 / ₹325). College fees are published with the counselling notices. [1]

B.Tech seats are allotted in online counselling rounds: new candidates apply online, the vacant seat matrix and state merit list are published, candidates fill choices, provisional seat allotment letters are issued, and certificates are verified at the allotted institute. In the fourth round of 2026 choices were filled on 10–11 August and admissions done on 12–13 August. [3]
