03 How counselling works

From registration to reporting

  • Register once on uptac.samarth.edu.in, pay the fee and upload documents — registration is allowed only in this window for the regular rounds.
  • Online document verification and replies to any query.
  • Fill and lock choices of institute and branch; seats are allotted on merit, preference and category seats.
  • Pay the seat confirmation fee (₹20,000 or ₹12,000 as listed in the schedule) and choose Freeze or Float; later rounds allow withdrawal.
  • Physically report at the allotted institute; a frozen seat not reported is cancelled without refund. Internal sliding and a special round follow for vacant seats. [2]

Seats are allotted strictly by merit and preference, subject to category seats; once allotted, the institute or branch cannot be changed. [1]

04 Fee structure

Counselling fees and fee waiver

  • Counselling registration fee: ₹1,000.
  • Fee paid after a seat is allotted is forfeited if the candidate does not report, except on withdrawal within the schedule.
  • Tuition fee waiver seats for economically weaker meritorious students: up to 5% over and above the approved intake in B.Tech, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B.Des, B.Pharm, MCA and MBA (not B.Arch), with no tuition fee; an income certificate is needed. This is separate from the EWS category, which gets no fee concession. [1]

Seat confirmation fee in the 2026 schedule: ₹20,000 / ₹12,000. [2]
