UP Police Constable 2025 & Sub-Inspector 2025 Recruitment
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board fills constable and sub-inspector posts through one written test, document checks with body measurement, and a qualifying run. This page follows Constable Direct Recruitment-2025 (32,679 posts, final result 14 October 2026) and SI Direct Recruitment-2025 (final result 14 July 2026).

Notice PRPB-B (Constable PAC and other cadres)-07/2025 of 31 December 2025 invited online applications for 32,679 posts. Applications ran from 31 December 2025 to 30 January 2026 (fee reconciliation until 2 February 2026). [1]

28,86,797 applications were received. The written exam was held on 8, 9 and 10 June 2026 in six shifts across 75 districts; 76,184 candidates (about 2.33 times the posts) were called for document checks and body measurement from 17 to 31 August 2026; the qualifying run was held from 1 to 11 October 2026; and the final result was published on 14 October 2026. SI Direct Recruitment-2025 (notice PRPB-B (SI cadre)-03/2025 of 12 August 2025) covered 4,242 Sub-Inspector (civil police), 135 Platoon Commander PAC / SI armed police, 60 Platoon Commander / SI Special Security Force and 106 women SI (women battalion) posts. 15,75,760 applied; the written exam ran on 14 and 15 March 2026; 12,333 were called for document checks and measurement (15–17 June 2026); the run was held from 29 June to 4 July 2026; the final result came on 14 July 2026. Qualification, age and physical standards
- Constable: Intermediate (Class 12) from a board established by law in India, or an equivalent recognised by the government, already passed when applying (appearing candidates are not eligible).
- Preference (not marks): a DOEACC / NIELIT 'O' level computer certificate, two years in the Territorial Army, or an NCC 'B' certificate breaks ties.
- Nationality: citizen of India, or a Tibetan refugee or person of Indian origin covered by the advertisement's conditions. [1]

A candidate who fits more than one category gets relaxation only in the one category that gives the most (an OBC candidate who is also a state employee still gets 5 years). There is no separate age relaxation for dependents of freedom fighters or home guards; they get horizontal reservation. Check the board's notices for any later change to the age table. [1]
- Sub-Inspector: a bachelor's degree from a university established by law in India (or a recognised equivalent), already passed when applying.
- SI age: 21 to 28 on 1 July 2025. Under GO 972187/6-1001(008)/24/2023 of 26 May 2025, all categories got a one-time 3-year relaxation for this recruitment, so the unreserved upper limit became 31 (born on or after 2 July 1994) and SC and ST candidates got 5 + 3 years (born on or after 2 July 1989). Chest expansion of at least 5 cm is compulsory. Measurements from earlier recruitments or private clinics are not accepted; a candidate unhappy with the measurement can appeal the same day. [5]

SI candidates need at least 35% in every section and 50% overall; each section is normalised separately and the four normalised scores are added. [5]

- SI 2025 run: men 4.8 km in 28 minutes, women 2.4 km in 16 minutes; it only qualifies and adds no marks. [5]
The final merit list uses only the normalised written score and the order of preference; ties go to preference qualifications, then to the older candidate, then to alphabetical order of name. [4]

- Women: for women's reserved posts in the police, all women candidates are considered, whichever state or union territory they come from (GO 39 Rit/Ka-2/2019 of 26 June 2019), subject to the pending Special Appeal (D) 475/2019.
- EWS: family income from all sources under ₹8 lakh in the year before applying (UP EWS Reservation Act, 2020).

What is checked at document verification
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate (graduation degree for SI), already held when applying.
- High School certificate for date of birth and name.
- Caste, OBC, EWS, freedom-fighter-dependent, ex-serviceman or home-guard certificate, issued by the last date of application on the proforma in the advertisement.
- UP domicile (original residence) certificate for any reservation or age relaxation.
- State Government employee certificate on proforma 5, where age relaxation is claimed.
- Preference certificates: 'O' level, Territorial Army or NCC 'B'. [1]
