TOEFL iBT for study abroad
TOEFL iBT is accepted by most universities that ask for English. In India ETS charges in rupees through its India site, and the fee includes GST.

03 Using TOEFL for a visa
Visa offices treat TOEFL differently
- Australia: from 21 January 2026 you must select 'Taking TOEFL for Australia' at registration for the score to count for a visa. TOEFL iBT Home Edition is not accepted, and tests taken between 26 July 2023 and 4 May 2024 are not accepted. [3]
- UK: a Student visa below degree level needs a Secure English Language Test (SELT); a university can assess English itself at degree level. [4]
