01 Overview & official source

What GSEB runs

  • SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12 — Science, General and vocational streams) exams, with supplementary (purak) exams after the results.
  • Results, answer keys and circulars on gseb.org, result.gseb.org and gsebeservice.com. [3]

GUJCET is conducted by GSEB under the Education Department resolution of 19 November 2016, for students seeking admission to degree engineering and degree / diploma pharmacy. [1]

02 Eligibility

Who takes GUJCET

  • Candidates of HSC Science Group A, Group B and Group AB.
  • The GUJCET information booklet and online-application instructions are published on www.gseb.org each cycle. [1]

Writing GUJCET matters for ACPC's state-quota engineering seats, which need Gujarat-located schooling plus a GUJCET attempt. [4]

03 Exam scheme

GUJCET subjects and media

  • Papers: Mathematics (subject code 050), Physics (054), Chemistry (052) and Biology (056).
  • Question papers are prepared in Gujarati, Hindi and English media, in sets 1 to 20.
  • GSEB publishes a provisional answer key after the exam and takes objections by e-mail before the final key. [2]

The paper-wise number of questions and duration are given in the GUJCET information booklet on gseb.org; check the current booklet.

05 Merit & cut-offs

How board marks and GUJCET are used

ACPC degree engineering (state seats): 50% weight to the board theory percentile in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (or Biology for eligible branches) + 50% weight to the GUJCET percentile in the same subjects. [4]

ACPDC first-year diploma: merit from the SSC (Class 10) marks — total and the Maths, Science and English marks. [5]

GCAS undergraduate: each university or college makes its own merit list; students are told to keep their Class 12 percentage in mind while choosing programmes. [6]

06 Document checklist

Keep these from your board exams

Keep the SSC mark sheet ready as one PDF for ACPDC, which checks the marks you type against it. [5]

  • GUJCET hall ticket (downloaded online before the exam) and result.
  • GSEB lets candidates apply for a copy of their GUJCET OMR sheet after the result. [3]
07 After the exams

Where these results take you

GUJCET results open degree engineering and degree / diploma pharmacy admissions, which ACPC runs. [1]

08 Results & support

Results, answer keys and copies

  • HSC Science and GUJCET results are declared together, with a result highlights booklet.
  • After the supplementary exams, GSEB publishes the procedure for re-checking and answer-sheet copies. [3]
