Pay levels
Constable: pay Level-3 (₹21,700 – ₹69,100). Sub-Inspector: pay Level-6. [1]
The SI advertisement prints only the pay level. In-hand salary adds dearness allowance and other allowances and subtracts deductions; neither advertisement gives an in-hand figure.
Districts and battalions
Constable selection for district police and Bihar Special Armed Police battalions runs together; candidates rank their preference in the form and are allotted by merit and preference. Appointing authorities are district Superintendents of Police and battalion commandants; selected candidates go through a medical (Bihar Police Manual form 103) and character verification. [1]
The appointing authority for Police Sub-Inspectors is the Deputy Inspector General of Police. [3]
