B.E. / B.Tech and lateral entry
- B.E. / B.Tech: Class 12 with physics and mathematics together with one of chemistry, computer science, electronics, IT, biology, informatics practices, biotechnology, technical vocational subject, agriculture, engineering graphics, business studies or entrepreneurship — at least 45% in the three subjects (40% for MP's SC, ST and non-creamy-layer OBC).
- Agriculture engineering also admits Class 12 agriculture-stream students (three agriculture subjects).
- Only candidates with a positive composite JEE (Main) score from NTA are eligible on JEE rank.
- Branch-wise subject rules apply: core branches such as civil, mechanical, chemical, mining and aeronautical need physics, chemistry and maths; computer and AI branches need physics and maths plus one listed subject.
- Lateral entry (B.E. 2nd year): a regular engineering / architecture diploma, among other routes. [1]
Order of allotment
- First, 5% NRI seats (where approved); unfilled NRI seats join the MP residents' seats.
- MP residents' seats: a reserved candidate with Unreserved-level merit gets an Unreserved seat first; unfilled reserved seats move ST ↔ SC, then to OBC, then to Unreserved.
- After the merit round, further rounds on entrance rank and / or qualifying marks may be held separately or together.
- Technical Stream (TS): MP residents with a 3-year engineering diploma from an MP university, who also passed Class 12 with physics and maths, are eligible for B.E. / B.Tech TS seats. [1]
Fees and waivers
- Tuition Fee Waiver: 5% supernumerary seats in every course for MP residents with family income up to ₹8 lakh a year; only tuition is waived.
- Private-institution fees are regulated by the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC). [1]
The rule book does not print the counselling registration fee, so none is shown here.
Seat categories
- Government and aided institutions: 5% All-India seats and up to 5% NRI seats; the rest for MP's original residents.
- Private institutions: 10% Institutional Preference Seats, 5% NRI; the rest in the General Pool, where Unreserved seats are open to other states' candidates too.
