About these numbers

Half of workers in the occupation earned more and half earned less in May 2025. New graduates usually start below the median.
It is BLS's projected change in the number of jobs from 2025 to 2035. For comparison, total U.S. employment is projected to grow 3.5%. Even slow-growing jobs have openings each year as people retire or change careers.
Because BLS reports pay by occupation, not by college major. A computer science graduate could be a software developer, analyst or researcher, each with different pay.
