West Bengal NEET UG Counselling 2026 — WBMCC State Quota, Management & NRI Seats, Domicile & Deposits
The Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, counsels undergraduate medical and dental state quota seats, private college management quota seats and NRI quota seats online through WBMCC. This page follows the notice-cum-information bulletin of 11 August 2026 (Memo HFW-23099/320/2026/M/2054) and the WBMCC counselling page.
State quota, management quota and NRI seats in one online counselling
Candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 at their category cut-off percentile take part in online counselling for West Bengal's UG medical and dental state quota seats, private college management quota seats and NRI quota seats. Documents are checked physically at a college before choice filling and again at admission. [1]
- The 2026 counselling ran Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and an online stray round, with a seat matrix and allotment result published for each. [2]
10 years' residence for state quota; anyone NEET-qualified for management seats
- State quota: you or your parent(s) must be domiciled in West Bengal, shown by one of the WBMCC proformas: a1 — lived in West Bengal for at least 10 years as on 31 Dec 2025 and passed Class 10 and 12 from West Bengal; a2 — 10 years' residence and passing 10+2 in 2026 from West Bengal; b — you studied outside but your parent(s) are permanent residents living in West Bengal for 10 years. An e-district domicile certificate is also accepted.
- Only listed officers (District Magistrate, SDO, BDO, SP, Commissioner of Police, judicial magistrates, Deputy Director and above, etc.) may sign proforma a1 / b; certificates from councillors, panchayat members, MLAs or MPs are not accepted.
- Management quota in private colleges is open to candidates not domiciled in West Bengal too, on combined NEET rank, with no caste or PwD reservation.
- Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English passed individually, and 50% in PCB for UR / EWS (40% for SC / ST / OBC). Age at least 17 by 31 Dec 2026. [1]
Register, verify documents, then fill choices
- Register online and pay; the candidate profile letter gives the date, time and college for physical document verification. Choice filling is allowed only after verification.
- Round 1 has a free exit: a candidate who does not report in Round 1 gets the deposit back. From Round 2 onwards, not reporting forfeits the deposit.
- NRI candidates are not verified before choice filling; they are allotted directly and verified at admission, which is held at a designated government medical college in Kolkata. [1]

- The deposit is adjusted against the course fee if you are allotted such a seat, and returned after counselling ends if you get no seat, surrender in Round 1 or 2, or do not report in Round 1.
- It is forfeited if you do not report from Round 2 on, or if any document is fake (a police FIR is also lodged). [1]
Only West Bengal certificates count for state quota
- An SC / ST / OBC / EWS certificate from another state makes you unreserved for state quota (eligible if you have the UR 50th percentile and a West Bengal domicile).
- OBC candidates need a West Bengal certificate and a non-creamy-layer certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026; otherwise they are treated as unreserved. EWS certificates too must be issued on or after 1 April 2026.
- Caste certificates are checked by officers of the state's Backward Classes Welfare Department at both verifications.
- PwD status must be certified through MCC's online link at the designated centres; for West Bengal the Primary Medical Assessment Board is at NRS Medical College, Kolkata.
- NRI quota candidates cannot also opt for state or management quota. [1]
Originals plus self-attested copies
- State quota: profile letter and payment receipt, domicile certificate (a1 / a2 / b or e-district), two parent ID proofs with a West Bengal address if using proforma b, West Bengal caste certificate, NEET UG 2026 admit card and rank card, PwD certificate, age proof, Class 12 marksheet, medical fitness certificate from a registered practitioner.
- Management quota: the same minus domicile (caste / PwD papers only for cut-off eligibility). [1]
Deposit adjusted against the fee
The bulletin does not list tuition fees. For private college seats the ₹2 lakh / ₹5 lakh deposit is adjusted against the course fee once a seat is allotted; check the participating-institutes list and seat matrix on the WBMCC page. [1]
Report with originals
Insufficient or invalid documents at the college stage cancel the candidature for the whole counselling. Registration fees are never refunded. [1]
