Odisha NEET UG Counselling 2026 — MBBS & BDS State Quota through OJEE: Eligibility, Rounds & Fees
The OJEE Committee, which also runs the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination, conducts the counselling for the 85% state quota MBBS and BDS seats on a state merit list built from NEET UG 2026. This page follows the revised OJEE-2026 counselling brochure and the MBBS / BDS stray vacancy round modalities.
NEET UG rank holders, counselled by OJEE
OJEE does not hold its own test for medicine: NEET-2026 rank holders take part in OJEE counselling for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and B.Pharm. MBBS and BDS have their own counselling guidelines, published separately. [1]
- The 2026-27 state quota counselling ran three online rounds (with upgradation and a sliding round), an online stray vacancy round from 17 to 21 October 2026 with several upgradations, and a physical spot round. [3]
Odisha natives, 17 years, 50% in PCB
- At least 17 years old on 31 Dec 2026; no upper age limit.
- Permanent native of Odisha, or a child of an All India Civil Service officer serving in the Odisha cadre.
- Passed +2 Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually, with 50% in PCB together for General and SEBC, 40% for SC / ST and for candidates with benchmark disabilities.
- NEET UG 2026 at the 50th percentile (General and EWS), 45th (General / EWS with disability), 40th (SC / ST, including with disability), unless NMC changes it. [1]
Online rounds, then stray and spot rounds
- Register online, pay the counselling fee, upload documents and fill choices; allotment is strictly on merit.
- Stray vacancy round: all state-merit-listed candidates may join except those already admitted through MCC (after its third or stray round) or through OJEE's third round. Allotted candidates report online and in person at the OJEE cell, Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar; missing reporting cancels the seat and bars further upgradation or spot rounds.
- General candidates may fill choices even if no general seat is vacant, because unfilled category seats may be converted to open. [2]
₹37,950 a year in a government college

The OJEE counselling (registration) fee for MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS is ₹1,000, non-refundable. [1]
Odisha certificates only
- Reserved categories: ST, SC, SEBC, EWS, with sub-categories for persons with disabilities, children of ex-servicemen, women and children of Green Card holders. All reservations are for Odisha domicile candidates, with certificates issued by Odisha's competent authorities.
- EWS certificates (income & asset, from the Tahsildar) issued online on or after 1 April 2026 are accepted.
- Unfilled SC / ST / SEBC seats pass to General after the category list is exhausted; unfilled sub-category seats go first to the parent category, then to General. [1]
Carry originals to the OJEE cell
- +2 mark sheet and pass certificate, HS / birth certificate, ID proof, residential / nativity certificate, CLC / transfer certificate, category certificates, and the admission fee by demand draft to "OJEE", Bhubaneswar, if not paid online. NRI candidates bring their NRI papers. [2]
Low in government colleges, ₹8–12 lakh a year in private
Government colleges charge ₹37,950 a year plus their own charges; private MBBS fees range from ₹8,54,000 to ₹11,56,000 a year, and any government revision applies automatically. [2]
Report on time or lose the seat
A candidate admitted in any category in the stray round cannot change it later. Once all vacant seats are filled, counselling is declared closed. [2]
