Filling the form or sitting the test does not make you eligible; only the department's admission rules do. [1]

03 Exam scheme & merit lists

No negative marking; four merit lists

  • PET-2026 had 150 questions (OMR sheet, four sets A–D), from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm. [2]
  • Each question has four options; 1 mark for the correct (or most suitable) answer, zero for a wrong, multiple or blank answer — no negative marking.
  • Wrong questions are scrapped and their marks given to all as bonus; questions with more than one correct option accept all of them.
  • Objections to the model answer cost ₹50 per question, online only. OMR sheets are machine-marked, so there is no re-totalling. [1]
  • Merit lists: PET (percentage of marks), JEE Main (percentage of marks), diploma final-year percentage and B.Sc final-year percentage (the last two for lateral entry).
  • Equal marks are ranked by age — the older candidate first. [3]

Chhattisgarh local candidates who appear get the exam fee refunded to the bank account used, after the result. Counselling has its own non-refundable fee fixed by the government. [1]

05 Reservation & seat allotment

Chhattisgarh natives first, PET before JEE Main

  • Reservation follows Chhattisgarh's reservation law in force at the time of admission.
  • Private institutions have a 15% management quota; minority institutions keep 50% of seats for minority candidates.
  • B.Tech seat order: natives of Chhattisgarh on the PET list first, then natives on the JEE Main list; seats still left go to candidates from outside the state on the PET list, then on the JEE Main list.
  • Lateral entry: natives on the diploma list, then the B.Sc list; then outside candidates in the same order. [3]
06 Document checklist

Verified at counselling

  • No certificates are uploaded with the form; caste, date of birth, residence, education, disability and ex-servicemen certificates are checked during counselling.
  • Bring the admit card and an original photo ID (voter ID, driving licence, PAN or Aadhaar) to the exam. Keep the admit card — it is asked for at counselling. [1]
07 Costs

Test fee and college fee

The instructions set only the test fee (₹100 – ₹200, refunded to locals who appear). After allotment you must pay the institution's fee by the set date, or the admission is cancelled. [3]

08 After the test

Online counselling, then document check at the college

Seats are allotted through online counselling by a committee formed by the state government. The allotment is provisional: you report to the allotted institution, which checks your original documents before admission. The AICTE last date is the last date of admission. [3]
