- Specialised institutes such as IITTM run programmes with their own selection routes.

Phase 3 · Year 1–3 Course structure Tourism products, travel operations and management.
- Year 1: Tourism Principles, Geography of Tourism, Communication Skills and Business Basics.
- Year 2: Travel Agency and Tour Operations, Ticketing, Hospitality, Tourism Marketing and Culture.
- Year 3: Aviation and Airport Management, Event Management, Sustainable Tourism and a project.

Phase 4 · Year 2–3 Certifications and internships Learn the industry tools and gain experience.
- Take IATA travel and tourism certificates and learn GDS systems such as Amadeus or Galileo.
- Intern with travel agencies, airlines, hotels and tourism boards.
- Learn itinerary building, costing and customer handling.
- Consider a government-approved tourist guide certificate through the Ministry of Tourism (IITTM).

Phase 5 · After graduation Careers and higher study Travel, airlines, hospitality, events and entrepreneurship.
- Roles: travel consultant, tour manager, airline ground staff, cabin crew (with separate selection), event coordinator and destination manager.
- Government and PSU roles: state tourism boards and IRCTC.
- Higher study: MBA in Tourism, MTTM or hospitality management.
- Entrepreneurship: tour operations, homestays and experiential travel.
