Your journey, phase by phase

  1. Phase 1 · Class 11–12 Class 12 eligibility Any stream, with minimum marks; Maths and Commerce help.
    • BMS is open to students from any stream who pass Class 12.
    • Aim for solid marks in English and Maths if you plan to attempt entrance exams.
    • Check each university’s minimum marks; Mumbai University programmes commonly use the state CET and merit.
    • Prepare a backup option, such as BBA or B.Com.

  2. Phase 2 · After Class 12 Entrance and admission cycle State CET for Mumbai University colleges, CUET-UG for central universities.
    • For Maharashtra colleges, take the MAH-BBA/BMS CET and join the CAP (Centralised Admission Process).
    • For central and many other universities, take CUET-UG.
    • Rank your preferred colleges during counselling rounds.
    • Finalise admission and pay fees by the deadlines.

  3. Phase 3 · Year 1–3 Six semesters of study Foundation papers first, then specialisations.
    • Year 1: Foundation of Human Skills, Business Economics, Accounting, Business Communication and Mathematics.
    • Year 2: Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations and Business Law.
    • Year 3: Strategic management, entrepreneurship, electives and a project.
    • Universities regularly update syllabi, so check the current one.

  4. Phase 4 · Year 2–3 Internships and live projects Hands-on training in a business setting.
    • Complete the summer internship, and write a report.
    • Do live projects in marketing, finance or HR.
    • Join the student committee, enter case competitions and attend industry talks.
    • Add certifications, such as digital marketing, Excel or data analytics.

  5. Phase 5 · After graduation After BMS Jobs or MBA.
    • Jobs: management trainee, marketing executive, HR associate, business analyst.
    • MBA entrance: CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAH-MBA CET, SNAP.
    • Professional courses: CFA, CS, CMA.
    • Entrepreneurship paths are common.
