Phase 1 · Class 11–12 Class 11–12 prerequisites Any stream with English; communication skills matter.
- BHM is open to Class 12 pass students from any stream, with English as a subject.
- Build communication, grooming, food interest and customer-service skills.
- Check the age and marks requirements in the NCHM JEE bulletin.
- Visit a hotel or a hospitality fair to understand the work.

Phase 2 · After Class 12 NCHM JEE and counselling The national entrance for Institutes of Hotel Management and other participating colleges.
- NCHM JEE is conducted by the NTA and tests numerical ability, reasoning, general knowledge, English and service aptitude.
- Counselling follows rank and chooses an Institute of Hotel Management or an approved college.
- Private hotel schools run their own tests or admit on merit.
- Check the colleges’ affiliation and placement record.

Phase 3 · Year 1–4 Academic years Food production, food and beverage service, front office and housekeeping.
- Year 1: Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office and Accommodation Operations.
- Year 2: Advanced operations, Food Science, Hotel Accounting and Hospitality Law.
- Year 3–4: Management subjects such as Marketing, HR, Revenue Management and Event Management.
- Practical sessions in kitchens, restaurants and labs are a large part of the course.

Phase 4 · Mid-course Industrial exposure training A paid placement of several months in hotels or restaurants.
- The industrial exposure training is a fixed period (about four to five months) in a partner hotel.
- You rotate through departments and are assessed by supervisors.
- Learn real service standards, teamwork and guest handling.
- Many students receive job offers from training hotels.

Phase 5 · After BHM Careers and higher study Hotels, airlines, cruise lines, catering and entrepreneurship.
- Entry roles: management trainee, front office executive, F&B executive, chef de partie and housekeeping supervisor.
- Other industries: airlines, cruise ships, hospital hospitality, event management and restaurants.
- Further study: MBA in hospitality, MHM or international programmes.
- Entrepreneurship in cafes, catering and boutique hotels.
